Our Executive Team

Nova Hamar

CFRE, President

Nova specializes in annual fund development, integrated campaign strategy, direct response, gift club development and sustained giving programs with a focus on developing initiatives to raise a program to the next level. Winner of an International ECHO Award from the Direct Marketing Association, she has more than twenty years of proven experience with museums, libraries, symphonies, social services, environmental, health care, and public broadcasting organizations. She is a frequent speaker at regional and national conferences. Previous to her work at LKA, she held senior development positions at the two largest membership nonprofit organizations in Oregon, The Oregon Zoo and Oregon Public Broadcasting. She finds her inspiration outdoors, hiking and exploring Oregon, and vacationing near Yellowstone where she fly fishes, hikes and loves to watch grizzly bears and wolves in their natural habitat.

Becky Chinn

Partner and Creative Director

With more than twenty years of experience in fundraising, marketing and communications, Becky’s specialty is strategy, creative project management and message development. On the leading edge of best practices as they rapidly evolve, she has extensive experience in integrated campaign development, traditional giving and new media strategies. At LKA, she works with a wide range of organizations from environmental to cultural to international aid. She began her career in the arts at the Oregon Bach Festival and Portland Opera, and most recently served as senior director of membership & marketing at Oregon Public Broadcasting, one of the nation’s flagship stations. She has served on national advisory teams in public media, won numerous awards for her work in public broadcasting, and continues to be sought out as a presenter at conferences and workshops nationwide. She finds her inspiration in nature, art, old books and new ideas. She loves to run, hike, ski, garden, write and laugh with good friends.

Elizabeth Coté

Senior Development Associate

Elizabeth merges the analytical and creative sides of development to maximize the effectiveness of membership and annual fund campaigns.  She helps organizations make data driven decisions to invest their dollars where they will make the most impact, and writes compelling fundraising letters that connect donors to how their involvement makes a difference.  She has collaborated with public broadcasting, zoos, museums and social service organizations, providing both successful campaign direction and team development to grow the organization’s knowledge and effectiveness moving forward.  She brings nearly twenty years of experience to each campaign, including her previous work managing membership with the Oregon Zoo Foundation and leading the annual fund at The Library Foundation of Multnomah County. She finds her inspiration in literature that takes her on a journey, daily runs that clear her mind, and in the smells and sounds of a busy, chaotic, happy kitchen full of family.
